Dear Families,

North County Health will be visiting our school to provide a free and completely optional dental screening for our students.

All students will participate in a short lesson on how to properly brush their teeth and will receive a goody bag to take home.

If you would like your child to receive the free dental screening, please return the form with the “YES” to the oral screening box checked.

If you prefer for your child not to receive the fluoride treatment, that’s completely fine—just check the “No Fluoride” box on the form.

Even if you choose not to participate, please return the form with the “No” boxes checked.

⭐ The class that returns the most forms will receive a special treat provided by North County Health! ⭐

Join us for our Fall Into Learning: Math & Science Harvest Night this Thursday, November 6th from 5:00–6:30 PM!

Our amazing PTO will be selling snacks, and all proceeds will go toward the Veterans Day Breakfast hosted by our STUCO following our annual Veterans Day program.

🏫 Staff Spotlight — Leadership Edition! 🌟 This week’s spotlight shines brightly on our fearless leader, Mrs. Alex Deitering! 💛 Mrs. Deitering is the heart of our school—always supportive, always available, and known for giving any and all help whenever it’s needed. From tackling the countless behind-the-scenes details that keep Linden running smoothly to jumping in wherever she’s needed, she truly is a lifesaver in the day-to-day operations of our school. To show our appreciation, Mrs. Deitering will receive the coveted apple of excellence 🍏 and a special token of thanks waiting in Mrs. Holyoak’s office. Thank you, Mrs. Deitering, for your steady guidance, tireless support, and endless positivity. Linden shines brighter because of you! ✨👏

🎃💫 Who doesn’t love Labubu? We sure do! 💫🎃 This week our students had a blast decorating their very own Labubu creations! We had four fun categories — Cute, Scary, Princess, and Superhero. 🦸‍♀️👑👻🐰 There were so many amazing entries that we had to call in some very special guests to help us pick the winners! 🏆✨ Let’s give a huge shout-out to our four contest winners! 🎉👏 We’re so proud of all our creative students — way to show your Halloween spirit! 🎨🧡

🎃👻 Tomorrow is the day! 👻🎃 Our annual Halloween Parade kicks off at 8:00 AM sharp! Parents and guardians are welcome to come watch — please arrive by 7:45 AM to sign in at the office before heading to the cafeteria. After lunch, our Halloween Town Carnival fun begins! 🕸️🧡 Please send your student with a bucket or bag to collect prizes and goodies. 🌟 Celebrating a Fantastic 1st Quarter at Linden! 🌟 Yesterday we came together for our PBIS Assembly to celebrate all of the amazing things our Cougars accomplished during the first quarter: ✅ Student Council Elections – we introduced our newly elected leaders who will help represent Linden this year. ✅ Perfect Attendance – students who showed up every single day were recognized for their commitment. ✅ IXL Growth – we celebrated students who showed growth in both reading and math. ✅ Cougar Shout-Outs – recognizing students who consistently live out our PBIS expectations. ✅ School Board Recognition – honoring our amazing Cougars and teacher who were recognized at the October School Board meeting. ✅ Staff Spotlight – celebrating the incredible staff who make Linden such a special place. ✅ PBIS Prize Drawing – we ended with our big giveaways: scooters, boo baskets, and one-of-a-kind Linden t-shirts! 🎁 💚 We also took a heartfelt moment to say goodbye to Mrs. Lewis, who has been such a gift to our Linden family. There were smiles, laughter, and even some tears as we wished her well. This assembly was a true reflection of Linden Elementary—where we celebrate growth, honor hard work, and come together as a family. 🍂 Now it’s time for fall break—please enjoy this time to rest and connect with your loved ones. We can’t wait to see everyone back on October 13th as we launch into second quarter and continue to show what it means to be a Cougar! 🐾💛💚

🍎 Staff Spotlight Winner! 🎉 This week we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Taylor Whipple, the newest member of the Linden teaching staff! 🌟 Taylor teaches 5th grade and has already made such a positive impact. She’s known for covering recess duty without hesitation and for brightening people’s days with her smile—even on the roughest of days. 💛 To celebrate her, Taylor will have the honor of displaying the coveted apple trophy in her classroom this week, along with a chance to pick out a special treat from Mrs. Holyoak’s office. 🏆✨ Welcome to Linden, Taylor—we’re so glad you’re here and already making a difference! 👏😊

✨ Happy Custodian Day! ✨ A huge shoutout to the best custodians we know — Mr. Brett and Mr. David! 🧹🧼 They work hard every day to keep our school clean and running smoothly. We appreciate you both more than words can say! 💚💛

🍂 Happy Fall Break! 🍂 The first 9 weeks are officially behind us, and we are so proud of our students for all the growth they’ve made so far this year. After student interventions on Friday, 10/4, our office will be open by appointment only starting Monday. We hope everyone has a safe and restful break — we’ll see you back on Monday, 10/13! 💚💛

Dear Linden Families, We wanted to give you a quick update on Cougar Swag. With the incredible amount of orders this year — and making sure every single student receives a shirt — we have a lot more to process than usual. We’re still working hard to get everything completed, but items are still a little ways out. Thank you so much for your patience!
