Show Low, a friendly city located in the White Mountains of Arizona, was established in 1820. Our community has always been very supportive of our schools. In Show Low, we understand the importance of hard work and educating future generations to succeed in an ever-changing, global society.

Arizona’s White Mountains
The White Mountains are the place for hiking, mountain biking, ATV riding, hunting, golfing, fishing, horseback riding, and much more.

Learn the history and enjoy the Native American Culture of the White Mountains. Take a walking tour to visit national landmarks, a pueblo village, and Apache ruins throughout the beautiful landscape of the White Mountains.

Sunrise Ski Park
Enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, sledding, and tubing the slopes. You’ll also find sleigh rides and ice fishing at Sunrise Ski Park. Events include the Winter Games, the Snow Course Mountain Bike Challenge, and more. And as if that weren’t enough, how about flying down Arizona’s longest zip line at speeds of over 45 miles per hour? It’s a great time for the entire family at Sunrise.

Show Low Historical Society Museum
See a collection of household items, tools, and more of the common Arizona settler, dating from the 1870s to the 1940s.

Apache County Historical Museum
Close by in St. Johns, the Apache County Historical Museum offers a glimpse into the history of the area. Beginning with the dinosaurs, this museum traces the inhabitants of the region of the banks of the Little Colorado River.

Little House Museum
Located west of Springerville, the Little House museum features an authentic presentation of ranching, outlaw, and pioneer history. This is a wonderfully unique museum nestled in the majestic canyon walls of the Little Colorado River. At the Little House Museum, you’ll find a collection of historical photos and mementos marking the passage of time and style of life in Arizona.

Show Low BBQ Throwdown
Show us your BBQ! Join in at this annual May event where the competition gets fierce for the best barbecue in the west. The winner gets a $10,000 payout. Now that ain’t too shabby!

Fourth of July in the White Mountains
Get in the patriotic spirit with family and friends at any of the many Fourth of July events. Events all weekend long include the Fourth of July Parade and Freedom Fest in Show Low, an arts and crafts festival in Pinetop, the annual Fourth of July Celebration and Night Rodeo in Taylor, the Lavender Festival in Concho, zip tour, and the July Fourth celebrations at Sunrise Park Resort.

Adult Tri in the Pines
This annual triathlon event for youth and adults takes place in September and is a great starter race or high altitude challenge for seasoned racers. It begins with a swim at the aquatic center, transitions to a bike race on city streets, and finishes with a run in Show Low City Park.

Grand Canyon University Night
Grand Canyon University is excited to visit Show Low Unified School District on Thursday, January 25 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and share all that the College of Education has to offer.
